Spinner

You Spin the yarn and I’ll hold the thread

Twist your tale a little and let the word spread

Wrap up your rovings around your head

Thin out your troubles a bit,

Let the world think you’re fine instead.

Go fibre by fibre, make sure every turn is smooth and sleek

Let them believe the fib,

Don’t let them know you’re weak.

Let them think you’re happy,

knit yourself a perfect lie.

But make sure Darling,

You don’t spin the yarn too tight!

Don’t feign to the extent where I can’t help you escape,

Where I’ll pull just a little and your sliver yarn would break.

Where you’ll be the spinner of your own uneven plied life,

And there’ll be no one to save you from your self-woven strife.
